Our German trip took us to the Rhein Valley, as well as a detour to the Nurburgring. I had always wanted to do a lap there, but unfortunately where the track is located up in the Eifels, and it was covered in snow – closed!
But we enjoyed checking out the current F1 track before heading down into the valley, where we toured the rest of the day. Our home for that night was the Castle Reichenstein, which had just opened after being closed for the winter. We were the only guests, and along with a colleague of mine who lived locally, the only ones for dinner as well.
What a great night spending it in a castle that was reputed to be haunted, though we didn’t see any extra visitors.
