A beautiful Sunday afternoon was the perfect time for a trip through Saguaro National Park to check out the wildflowers and brittle bushes in bloom next to the iconic saguaro, prickly pear and ocotillo cacti.

Small purple lupine lined the road next to these large saguaros.

Some calliandra eriophylla, better known as fairy dusters.

The blooming brittle bushes scattered about the saguaros.

The entire desert floor is very green thanks to the winter rains, and the blooming flowers just add to it.

Even the large rocky areas have additional color. The desert in bloom is a special time of year.
